SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Karen Jean Weir of Wonder Lake, who passed away on July 23, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Karen Weir was born in Lake Forest on October 6, 1976 to Arnold "Lynn" and Sandra (Kleckner) Anderson; she graduated from Antioch Community High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Marquette University; she graduated in 2001 with her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the University of Iowa; she married Todd Weir in Lake Geneva on October 20, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Karen Weir joined Jewel-Osco as a pharmacist; she achieved the position of manager at the Fox Lake location for her entire career; and

WHEREAS, Karen Weir loved the outdoors; she enjoyed snowmobiling in Wisconsin and boating on Wonder Lake and other Illinois waterways; she could always be found four-wheeling with her husband; she was a devoted wife, caring sister, loving aunt, and thoughtful friend; and

WHEREAS, Karen Weir was preceded in death by her father; and

WHEREAS, Karen Weir is survived by her husband; her mother, Sandra (Kleckner) Anderson; her in-laws, Steven and Susan Weir; her brother, Eric (Jennifer) Anderson; her brother-in-law, Nick (Melissa) Weir; her nieces, Samantha and Lillian; her nephews, Benjamin and Caleb; and her maternal grandfather-in-law, Richard Singer; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Karen Jean Weir, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Karen Weir as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
