SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Carl L. Gargano of Moline, who passed away on July 1, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Carl Gargano was born on November 29, 1931 in Silvis; his parents were James and Maria Rando Gargano; he married Irene Olson on March 23, 1957 in Davenport, Iowa; and

WHEREAS, Carl Gargano served in the United States Navy during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Carl Gargano worked for the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad as a machinist for 10 years; he retired from the John Deere Foundry in 1991 after 34 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Carl Gargano was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8890 and the East End Club in Moline; and

WHEREAS, Carl Gargano loved visiting with people, cooking Italian dinners, fishing, hunting, and gardening; and

WHEREAS, Carl Gargano was preceded in death by his parents and his sister; and

WHEREAS, Carl Gargano is survived by his wife, Irene; his children, David Gargano, Cynthia Lewis, and Lori (Tony) Serra; his granddaughters, Ociana Lewis, Victoria (Daniel) Schoess, Olivia Serra, and Andria Serra; and his brother; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Carl L. Gargano; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Carl Gargano as an expression of our sympathy.
