SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lossee Morford of Taylor Ridge, who
4passed away on July 8, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lossee Morford was born in Burgess to Peter Lossee
6and Carrie Dorothy Morford on September 12, 1924; he attended
7Monmouth College and served in the United States Navy as a
8Seabee on Midway Island in 1943; he married Esther Clark in
9Seaton on September 1, 1946; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Lossee Morford became a carpenter for Dimock and
11Gould; he and his wife moved to Andalusia and owned and
12operated Morford's Market and the Hiway Royal Blue; he later
13was employed as a Realtor for Ziere Realty and Lohman Brothers;
14he then worked for the Rock Island County Board of Review until
15his retirement in 1993; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Lossee Morford was an avid golfer and enjoyed
17woodworking and carving; he will always be remembered for his
18patience, kindness, integrity, and dedication to his wife and
19family; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Lossee Morford was preceded in death by his
21parents; his brother, Locke Morford; and his daughter-in-law,

1Marilyn Morford; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Lossee Morford is survived by his wife of 70
3years, Esther; his son, Stephen (Bernadette) Morford; his
4daughters, Janet (John) Walker and Pamela (Tony) Whittington;
5nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; therefore, be
6it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Lossee Morford, and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Lossee Morford as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
