SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marilyn Scanlan, who passed away on June 19, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Scanlan was born on November 4, 1929 in Chicago; her parents were William and Caroline Heuel; she married Frank Scanlan on June 27, 1964 at Queen of All Saints Basilica in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Scanlan was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, where she volunteered at the Little Christopher's resale shop for 41 years; she was a former employee of Commonwealth Edison and an active member of the Edison Choraliers choral group; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Scanlan enjoyed gardening, reading, and being a grandmother; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Scanlan was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and her brothers, James Heuel and William Heuel, Jr.; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Scanlan is survived by her children, Kevin Scanlan and Brian (Theresa) Scanlan, and her grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Ryan Scanlan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Marilyn Scanlan; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marilyn Scanlan as an expression of our sympathy.
