SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marcia L. Markwalder of Bartonville, who
4passed away on June 18, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marcia Markwalder was born on July 4, 1932 in Good
6Hope; her parents were Stephen and Ada "Grace" McMahill; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Marcia Markwalder worked at the Bartonville Bank
8in Bartonville for many years; she served as the Mayor of the
9Village of Bartonville from 1997 to 2005; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Marcia Markwalder was very active in community
11events and organizations; she served as president of the Oak
12Grove Grade School District PTA; she was a member of the Oak
13Grove Grade School District School Board and the Red Hat
14Society; she served as president of the Femme Unirs Women's
15Club from 1992 to 1995 and 2006 to 2008; she was a member of the
16GSWC Illinois State Board from 2008 until her passing and of
17the GSWC Illinois Lou Brown's Rainbows from 2010 to 2015; she
18was President of the Splash Committee; she was also a member of
19the Farm Bureau, the Women's American Legion and the
20Bartonville Air Show Committee and a volunteer for the Wildlife
21Prairie Park and the Bi-Centennial Committee of Bartonville;

1    WHEREAS, Marcia Markwalder was preceded in death by her
2brothers, Donald and Claire McMahill, and her sisters, Freda
3Brownfield and Marjorie Connett; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Marcia Markwalder is survived by her husband,
5David R. Markwalder; her sons, Douglas R. (Toni) Markwalder and
6Jeffery T. (Moshe Eliel) Markwalder; her grandsons, Nathen and
7Stephen Markwalder; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be
8it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
11family and friends, mourn the passing of Marcia L. Markwalder;
12and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Marcia Markwalder as an expression
15of our sympathy.
