| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Jean Moser Roth of Rock Island, who | 4 | | passed away on June 17, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jean Roth was born in St. Joseph, Missouri to | 6 | | Frank E. and Bettie Kountz Moser on May 1, 1922; she served as | 7 | | a nurse in the United States Army during World War II; she | 8 | | married Robert R. Roth in Denver, Colorado on September 27, | 9 | | 1944 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1944 from | 10 | | the University of Missouri; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Jean Roth retired in 1984 from the Rock | 12 | | Island/Milan School District #41, where she was a school nurse | 13 | | from 1977 to 1984; she previously worked as an instructor of | 14 | | Student Nurses at St. Anthony's Hospital in Rock Island from | 15 | | 1966 to 1970 and was a Charge Nurse at St. Anthony's from 1947 | 16 | | to 1953; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jean Roth was a member and past elder of Broadway | 18 | | Presbyterian Church in Rock Island; she was also a member of | 19 | | the Broadway Presbyterian Church Circle Woman's Association, | 20 | | the American Red Cross, the American Association of University | 21 | | Women, and the Chapter JI PEO Sisterhood; she was a former | 22 | | leader for the Girl Scouts of America and 4-H and a past member |

| 1 | | of South Park Presbyterian Church in Rock Island; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Jean Roth was preceded in death by her husband, | 3 | | Robert; her parents; and her daughter, Linda D. Roth; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Jean Roth is survived by her children, Philip F. | 5 | | (Landee) Roth and Bette R. (Dennis) Haase; her grandsons, Ryan | 6 | | (Lisa) Roth, Eric (Danielle) Roth, Justin Haase, and Derek | 7 | | Haase; three great-grandchildren; her sisters, Betty M. Price | 8 | | and Donna M. (David) Faust; and her sister-in-law, Dorothea | 9 | | Moser; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Jean Moser Roth, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 14 | | further
