SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Harold Charles Blaser of Reynolds, who passed away on June 20, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Harold Blaser was born on October 31, 1927 in Taylor Ridge; his parents were Harry and Annie Blaser; he married Margie Sackville on May 2, 1948 in Hamlet; she preceded him in death on September 9, 1982; he married Ann Gregory on June 29, 1984 in Ecorse, Michigan; and

WHEREAS, Harold Blaser proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Harold Blaser farmed his entire life and raised purebred Hereford cattle since 1948; and

WHEREAS, Harold Blaser was a member of Hamlet Presbyterian Church, the Rock Island County Farm Bureau, the Illinois and American Hereford Associations, and Reynolds American Legion Post 1166; he also served as director of the Rock Island Soil and Water Conservation District; and

WHEREAS, Harold Blaser was preceded in death by his first wife, Margie; his parents; his grandsons, Josh, Brady, and Logan Blaser; and his sisters, Evelyn Carlson and Arlene Nussbaum; and

WHEREAS, Harold Blaser is survived by his wife, Ann; his children and their spouses, Anita Gorden, Blair (Sara) Blaser, Lisa Blaser, and Brad (Penny) Blaser; his stepchildren, P. Wendell (Denise) Gregory, Marlene Gregory, and Charlene (Dave) Waid; his grandchildren, Angie, Jessica, Cody, Bailey, Abby, and Thomas; his seven step-grandchildren; and his step-great-grandchild; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Harold Charles Blaser; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Harold Blaser as an expression of our sympathy.
