SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marvin F. Mirr of Rock Island, who passed
4away on June 11, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marvin Mirr was born on February 26, 1931 in
6Humphrey, Nebraska; his parents were Leo and Adeline Beller
7Mirr; he married Joyce Ellen Wiggers on June 19, 1954; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Marvin Mirr graduated from St. Joseph's High
9School in Rock Island in 1950; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Marvin Mirr proudly served our country in the
11United States Army in Germany during the Korean War; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Marvin Mirr was employed at the John Deere Plow
13Planter Works in Moline for more than 30 years until his
14retirement in 1982; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Marvin Mirr was an avid traveler, frequently
16visiting family and friends in the United States and Europe; he
17also enjoyed attending the theater, Chicago Cubs games,
18crossword puzzles, and playing video poker at Jumer's; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Marvin Mirr was preceded in death by his wife,

1Joyce, and his siblings, Ilene Kennedy, Mardi Conover, Anita
2Kane, Kathleen Manion, and Ivan Mirr; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Marvin Mirr is survived by his loving companion of
416 years, Elizabeth Langheim; his children, Steven (Barbara),
5Ron (Deanne), Pamela (Don), and Diane (Brian); nine
6grandchildren; and his siblings, Dale and Lana Mirr, Carol and
7Don Hoover, Janet Robinson, and Betty Dies; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
10family and friends, mourn the passing of Marvin F. Mirr; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Marvin Mirr as an expression of our
14sympathy.
