SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard F. Gallens of Moline, who passed
4away on June 8, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Gallens was born in Moline to Camiel and
6Helen Erickson Gallens on May 31, 1929; he attended Moline High
7School and served in the United States Army during the Korean
8War; he married Greta Miles in Moline on July 16, 1955; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Richard Gallens was employed in the experimental
10department at Deere & Co.; he retired in 1987 after 38 years;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Richard Gallens was a talented machinist; he
13enjoyed relaxing in his front yard watching traffic go by, and
14he and his wife loved vacationing in Fort Myers Beach, Florida;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Richard Gallens is survived by his wife, Greta;
17his daughter, Diana (Tim) Krakovec; his son, David (Dawn)
18Gallens; and his grandchildren, Kristen, Nick, Heather,
19Allison, and Shawn; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
2Richard F. Gallens, and extend our sincere condolences to his
3family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
4further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the family of Richard Gallens as an expression of
7our deepest sympathy.
