SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard F. Gallens of Moline, who passed away on June 8, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Richard Gallens was born in Moline to Camiel and Helen Erickson Gallens on May 31, 1929; he attended Moline High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War; he married Greta Miles in Moline on July 16, 1955; and

WHEREAS, Richard Gallens was employed in the experimental department at Deere & Co.; he retired in 1987 after 38 years; and

WHEREAS, Richard Gallens was a talented machinist; he enjoyed relaxing in his front yard watching traffic go by, and he and his wife loved vacationing in Fort Myers Beach, Florida; and

WHEREAS, Richard Gallens is survived by his wife, Greta; his daughter, Diana (Tim) Krakovec; his son, David (Dawn) Gallens; and his grandchildren, Kristen, Nick, Heather, Allison, and Shawn; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard F. Gallens, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Gallens as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
