SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas H. Hawkins of Colona, who passed away on May 27, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Hawkins was born in Moline to Howard "Lucky" and Beverly Ostrowski Hawkins on June 28, 1952; he retired from the United States Army, where he was a Major in the Chemical Brigade; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Hawkins retired from Case International Harvester as a machinist after 31 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Hawkins enjoyed fishing, watching the Illini and the Chicago Bears, and spending time with his friends; he also loved his dog, Sam; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Hawkins was preceded in death by his grandparents, Florence and Stanley Ostrowski; his father; and his nephew, Matthew Hawkins; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Hawkins is survived by his mother, Beverly Hawkins; his wife, Kelly; his children, Chris Hawkins and Rachel Hawkins; his grandchildren, Emily Hawkins, Isabelle Hawkins, Nathaniel Sharpe, Jordin Manning, Paige Hawkins, Karsin Manning, and Amara Bryant; his brother, Robert (Jeanette) Hawkins; and his sister, Mary (Gary) Jones; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas H. Hawkins, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas Hawkins as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
