SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dennis D. Askam of Moline, who passed away on May 20, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Askam was born in Iowa City, Iowa to Donald and Arlene (Bloch) Askam on November 5, 1942; he married Judy Pease in Rock Island on April 17, 1971; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Askam worked as a clerk for the United States Postal Service in Milan; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Askam enjoyed watching sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Chicago Bears, and the Chicago Cubs; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Askam was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Askam is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy; his daughter, Mandy Vallee; his sisters, Doreen (Tom) Devore and Annette Askam-Maas; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Dennis D. Askam, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dennis Askam as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
