SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Harlin Eugene "Gene" Terry of Moline, who passed away on April 15, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Harlin Terry was born on August 12, 1944; his parents were Earl and Myrtle Gorsuch Terry; and

WHEREAS, Harlin Terry served in the United States Army, then went on to attend Black Hawk College and graduate from Western Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in engineering; and

WHEREAS, Harlin Terry retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 2005 after 20 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Harlin Terry loved remodeling his rental properties and attending antique car shows; his pride and joy was his 66-68 Dodge van and truck, which he stripped down and redid himself; he also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and dancing; and

WHEREAS, Harlin Terry was preceded in death by his father and his sister-in-law, Jean Marie Terry; and

WHEREAS, Harlin Terry is survived by his companion, Gloria Lopez; his brother, John Terry; his nephews, Jonathan (Tracy) Terry and Michael (Meaghan) Terry; his eight great-nieces and great-nephews; his godchildren, Angie Moore, Mario Delgado, Alex Animas, and Mercedes Animas; and his best friend, John Gray; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Harlin Eugene "Gene" Terry; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Harlin Terry as an expression of our sympathy.
