SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert J. Ford, Sr. of Moline, who passed away on April 12, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Robert Ford, Sr. was born on February 28, 1923 in Chicago; his parents were David George and Rose Mary Passman Ford; he married Virginia Latham on July 15, 1950 in Davenport; and

WHEREAS, Robert Ford, Sr. served in the United States Army Air Corps, piloting a B-24 Liberator during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Robert Ford, Sr. was employed at Deere and Company in Moline for 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Robert Ford, Sr. was a member of Christ the King Church in Moline; and

WHEREAS, Robert Ford, Sr. was an avid member of the Alleman Pioneer Booster Club and was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears; he also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Robert Ford, Sr. was preceded in death by his three sisters and his brother; and

WHEREAS, Robert Ford, Sr. is survived by his wife, Virginia; his children, Bob (Linda) Ford, Jr., Tim (Julianne) Ford, Terry (Mary Beth) Ford, and Rick (Jackie) Ford; his grandchildren, Sarah Ford, Rachel Childs, Katie Kauffman, Ryan Ford, Chris Ford, Jami Parise, Terry Ford, Jr., Casie Layer, Ben Ford, and Emily Ford; and his 10 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert J. Ford, Sr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Ford, Sr. as an expression of our sympathy.
