SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lyle A. Vroman of Rock Island, who passed away on March 18, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Lyle Vroman was born in Edgington to Henry J. and Estelle Gould Vroman on February 12, 1923; he proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater; he married Esther Padget in Davenport, Iowa on January 25, 1953; and

WHEREAS, Lyle Vroman retired from the Moline Fire Department at the rank of Assistant Chief with 25 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Lyle Vroman was a past commander of the Milan American Legion Post 569; he held several other offices at the State level of the American Legion and at Rushville Post 4; he enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, yard work, and gardening; and

WHEREAS, Lyle Vroman was preceded in death by his wife, Esther; his parents; his sister, Doris Eyler; and his brother-in-law, Howard Eyler; and

WHEREAS, Lyle Vroman is survived by his children, Tate (Mary Ann) Vroman, Riley (Judy) Vroman, Marie (Sam) Weindruck, Connie (Kelly) Smithhart, and Debbie (Mike) Day; his 11 grandchildren; his several great-grandchildren; his brother, Floyd (Zita) Vroman; and many other loving family members and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lyle A. Vroman, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lyle Vroman as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
