SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Randall B. Westphal of Rock Island, who passed away on March 16, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Randall Westphal was born in Moline to Edwin and Helen Purcell Westphal on December 29, 1942; he served in the United States Air Force and married Carole Beselin in Rock Island in 1969; and

WHEREAS, Randall Westphal retired from Rock Island Arsenal after 35 years of service; he also worked at Nixalite for many years; and

WHEREAS, Randall Westphal enjoyed Sprint Car racing; and

WHEREAS, Randall Westphal was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Fred and Sarah Parker; and

WHEREAS, Randall Westphal is survived by his daughter, Jodi (Lyle) Heinrich; his stepson, Jesse Olson; and his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Megan, Grace, and Travis; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Randall B. Westphal, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Randall Westphal as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
