SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dean Kemper Bowen of East Moline, who passed away on March 7, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Dean Bowen was born on September 20, 1945 in Omaha, Nebraska; his parents were Dean, Sr. and Gladys Bowen; he married Reba Dickey in 1971, and they later divorced; he married Mary Watson Wenstrom Ramos on June 14, 1994 in Elico, Nevada; and

WHEREAS, Dean Bowen served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, Dean Bowen worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber for 30 years until his retirement in 2002; and

WHEREAS, Dean Bowen was a member of Disabled American Veterans in Lincoln, Nebraska and a show judge for the International Show Car Association; and

WHEREAS, Dean Bowen is survived by his wife, Mary; his daughters, Kendra (Glen) Adams and Karis Bowen; his granddaughters, Karis and Kyla Adams; and his stepson, Kevin (Tina) Wenstrom; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Dean Kemper Bowen; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dean Bowen as an expression of our sympathy.
