SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jeanette L. Kohl of Orion, who passed away on February 28, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Jeanette Kohl was born on March 8, 1921 in rural Washington County, Iowa; she married Russell Ferguson, who passed away in 1945; she later married Robert Kohl; and

WHEREAS, Jeanette Kohl served in the Women's Army Corps during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Jeanette Kohl was employed in procurement at the Rock Island Arsenal for several years; and

WHEREAS, Jeanette Kohl loved quilting and belonged to several quilting groups, including the Mississippi Valley Quilters; she was also an active volunteer for several organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, Project Now, Alternatives for Older Adults, and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center; and

WHEREAS, Jeanette Kohl was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell; her second husband, Robert; her mother, Grace Boshart, and her brother, Raymond Boshart; and

WHEREAS, Jeanette Kohl is survived by her children, Susan (Lee) Tamaoki, Rita Thompson, and Kenneth Kohl; her grandchildren, Tony, Natalie, and Julia Tamaoki, Ben Thompson, and Sondra Sierens; and her great-grandchildren, Austin and Aaron Bleyaert; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Jeanette L. Kohl; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jeanette Kohl as an expression of our sympathy.
