SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Elliott L. Seymour of Rock Island, who passed away on February 23, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Elliott Seymour was born in Fairfax, Missouri to John and Fern Seymour on July 4, 1922; he married Wanda Freeman on November 21, 1942; he served in the military during World War II in the South Pacific; and

WHEREAS, Elliott Seymour was a production welder at John Deere Plow and Planter for over 37 years; he also worked at First of America Bank in maintenance for over 11 years; and

WHEREAS, Elliott Seymour enjoyed cars and pickups, both old and new, and spending time in the garage; and

WHEREAS, Elliott Seymour was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; his parents; his son, James Seymour; his brother, Rufus Seymour; and his sister, Leta; and

WHEREAS, Elliott Seymour is survived by his daughter, Joyce (Richard) Koenig; his grandchildren, Rich (Sheri) Koenig III, David (Katy) Koenig, Diantha (Bryan) Muck, and Audra Martin; and his great-grandchildren, Kurt, Ashley, Aric, and Oliver; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Elliott L. Seymour, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Elliott Seymour as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
