SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Allan R. Kelley of Rock Island, who passed away on February 17, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Allan Kelley was born on November 24, 1933, in Manchester, Iowa; his parents were Junior George and Mildred (nee Fowler) Kelley; he married Janice Hendricks on July 11, 1953 in Moline; she passed away on December 20, 1988; he later married Ruth Nelson on February 14, 1991 in Rock Island; and

WHEREAS, Allan Kelley served in the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, Allan Kelley was a machinist on the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring as foreman in 1988; and

WHEREAS, Allan Kelley was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline; and

WHEREAS, Allan Kelley enjoyed woodworking and building, and was a perfectionist when doing projects for himself or others; and

WHEREAS, Allan Kelley was preceded in death by his first wife, Janice, and his siblings, Virgil, Annette, Douglas, and Carol; and

WHEREAS, Allan Kelley is survived by his wife, Ruth; his children and their spouses, Mike Kelley, Stephen Kelley, Lynn and David Goheen, Robert Nelson, and Julia and Jim Riley; his 11 grandchildren; his 15 great-grandchildren; and his brother and sister-in-law, Kurtis and Sharon Kelley; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Allan R. Kelley; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Allan Kelley as an expression of our sympathy.
