SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Walter Lee Terrell of Moline, who passed
4away on January 27, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Walter Terrell was born on August 29, 1931 in
6Bedford, Indiana; his parents were Frank and Helen (nee Bales)
7Terrell; he married Monica Patterson on October 2, 1953; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Walter Terrell served in the United States Marine
9Corps from 1948 to 1968; he was awarded a Bronze Star and a
10Purple Heart for combat action in Korea in 1952 and 1953; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Walter Terrell was employed at the Rock Island
12Arsenal for 22 years at the Small Arms Facility and the Air
13Conditioning and Refrigeration Department; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Walter Terrell was a member of Bethel Wesley
15United Methodist Church in Moline, Moline American Legion Post
16#246, the Fleet Reserve, the NRA, and the Quad City British
17Auto Club; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Walter Terrell enjoyed traveling with his wife in
19their motor home with the Moline Family Campers; and

1    WHEREAS, Walter Terrell was preceded in death by his
2parents; his wife, Monica; and his son, Donnie; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Walter Terrell is survived by his children, Ron
4(Gay "Beav") Terrell, Tammy (Mike) Hoyt, Mark (Terry) Terrell,
5and Laura (Jamie) Smith; his 5 grandchildren; and his 7
6great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Walter Lee Terrell;
10and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Walter Terrell as an expression of
13our sympathy.
