SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Walter Lee Terrell of Moline, who passed away on January 27, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Walter Terrell was born on August 29, 1931 in Bedford, Indiana; his parents were Frank and Helen (nee Bales) Terrell; he married Monica Patterson on October 2, 1953; and

WHEREAS, Walter Terrell served in the United States Marine Corps from 1948 to 1968; he was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for combat action in Korea in 1952 and 1953; and

WHEREAS, Walter Terrell was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal for 22 years at the Small Arms Facility and the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Department; and

WHEREAS, Walter Terrell was a member of Bethel Wesley United Methodist Church in Moline, Moline American Legion Post #246, the Fleet Reserve, the NRA, and the Quad City British Auto Club; and

WHEREAS, Walter Terrell enjoyed traveling with his wife in their motor home with the Moline Family Campers; and

WHEREAS, Walter Terrell was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Monica; and his son, Donnie; and

WHEREAS, Walter Terrell is survived by his children, Ron (Gay "Beav") Terrell, Tammy (Mike) Hoyt, Mark (Terry) Terrell, and Laura (Jamie) Smith; his 5 grandchildren; and his 7 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Walter Lee Terrell; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Walter Terrell as an expression of our sympathy.
