SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Harry L. Vroman, who passed away on January 19, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Harry Vroman was born on September 14, 1923 in Hillsdale; his parents were John and Margaret Scheff Vroman; he married Mary Margaret Rock on March 17, 1948 in Geneseo; and

WHEREAS, Harry Vroman served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II in the European Theater; and

WHEREAS, Harry Vroman worked as a machine operator for International Harvester until his retirement in 1983 after 28 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Harry Vroman was a member of Hillsdale United Methodist Church, a member, Commander, and chaplain of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Geneseo, and commander of the Hillsdale Legion; and

WHEREAS, Harry Vroman enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting cans and donating the proceeds to the church for the kids; he was also honored to go on one of the first Honor Flights from the Quad-Cities and cherished that trip; and

WHEREAS, Harry Vroman was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary; his siblings, Carroll, Lawrence, Ruby, Evelyn, Ralph, Gladys, and Butch; his son, Alan Vroman; and his great-grandson, Joshua Vroman; and

WHEREAS, Harry Vroman is survived by his children, Ron (Sue) Vroman, Kevin (Trina) Vroman, and Ruth Anne (Bill) Klotz; his siblings, Marian (Gil) Klockengea, Viola (Bob) Dennis, Bob (Karen) Vroman, Dale (Jody) Vroman, Mae Croft, and Alice Twilligear; his grandchildren, Craig, Chad, Linda, Jim, William, Katherine, Eric, Tyler, Cody, and Parker; and his great-grandchildren, Jacob, Sam, Rebekah, Jensen, Wyatt, Billy, Kyle, Lisa, Sophia, and Emma; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Harry L. Vroman; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Harry Vroman as an expression of our sympathy.
