SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas Joseph Sheley of East Moline, who passed away on January 17, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Sheley was born on November 18, 1935 at the family home in East Moline; his parents were Earl and Aline Schulte Sheley; he married Luanne Marie Riskedahl on June 7, 1958 at St. Anne Church in East Moline; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Sheley served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Sheley retired as a Bindery Supervisor from Desaulnier's Printing after many years of service; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Sheley enjoyed woodworking and always was available to help family and friends with their building projects; he also loved horses and trail riding; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Sheley was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert; and his grandson, Michael; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Sheley is survived by his wife, Luanne; his children, Daniel (Christina) Sheley, Richard (Kimberly) Sheley, Beth Ann (Mark) Boens, Joseph (Brenda) Sheley, and Mary Kay (Vince) Kalkowski; his 10 grandchildren; his 5 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Richard (Lois) Sheley; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Thomas Joseph Sheley; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas Sheley as an expression of our sympathy.
