SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Sherman Earl Ziegenbein of Silvis, who passed away on December 10, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Sherman Ziegenbein was born in Orchard, Nebraska to Earl and Myrtle Branen Ziegenbein on April 7, 1923; he served in the United States Army during World War II and married Marian Haggh in La Grange on January 21, 1946; and

WHEREAS, Sherman Ziegenbein worked in sales for American Greetings; and

WHEREAS, Sherman Ziegenbein was a member of Faith Lutheran Church; and

WHEREAS, Sherman Ziegenbein was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Sharon Gammon; and

WHEREAS, Sherman Ziegenbein is survived by his loving wife, Marian; his sons, Mark (Linda) Ziegenbein and Richard (Sandy) Ziegenbein; and his 3 grandchildren, Tyler Speir, Courtney Philbrook, and Ryan Ziegenbein; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Sherman Earl Ziegenbein, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sherman Ziegenbein as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
