SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Harold Axel "Hal" Markuson III of Panama
4City, Florida, who passed away on January 2, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Harold Markuson was born in Moline on July 2, 1942
6to Harold Axel and Marguerite S.M. (nee Clark) Markuson II; he
7graduated from Moline High School in 1960; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Harold Markuson served in the United States Air
9Force for over 22 years as a photographer; upon retirement, he
10continued his service as superintendent of the Rock Island
11County Veteran Assistance Commission for more than 18 years;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, Harold Markuson was a member of Parker United
14Methodist Church and Calvary Lutheran Church of Moline, where
15he completed its Diakonia program; he also loved camping and
16was a camp host for 3 seasons with the KOA campground in Fort
17Collins, Colorado and one season with Light Train & RV Park in
18Silver Hill, Alabama; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Harold Markuson married Siri on February 17, 1996;
20they moved to Panama City, Florida in 2014; and

1    WHEREAS, Harold Markuson was preceded in death by his
2parents and his brother, Hilding "Toby" Markuson; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Harold Markuson is survived by his wife, Siri; his
4son, Scott A. (Kalysha) Markuson; his daughters, Marlana (Joe)
5Richardson and Darcie (Mac) Moffitt; and his 6 grandchildren,
6Sagemond, Keegan, Gabriel, Benjamin, Rebecca, and Jaxson;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Harold Axel "Hal" Markuson III, and extend our sincere
11condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
12him; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Harold Markuson as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
