SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ronald Earl Gordon of Moline, who passed away on January 7, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Gordon was born in Rock Island on March 2, 1941 to Raymond and Lois Beede Gordon; he graduated from Moline High School and served in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1961; he married Charlotte Crompton on September 3, 1961 in Rock Island; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Gordon worked for Rock Island Lines and retired from John Deere Seeding in Moline in 2003 after 38 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Gordon was an avid fisherman and hunter; he was raised on the Rock River and knew it like the back of his hand; he enjoyed spending time with his family and spending time on his porch watching the river, ducks, and geese; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte; his parents; his son, Steven; and his grandson; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Gordon is survived by his children, Tari (Andrew) Nevener, Tony (Izumi) Harahi-Gordon, and James Gordon; his grandchildren, Ron (Alisha) Gordon, Raynn Oechsner, Tessa Gordon, and Ryder Gordon; his brother, David (Norma) Gordon; and his special friend, Shirley Seaton; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ronald Earl Gordon, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ronald Gordon as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
