| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Robert W. Morris of Moline, who passed | 4 | | away on December 13, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Morris was born on February 10, 1922 in | 6 | | Moline; his parents were William S. and Ebba L. Swanson Morris; | 7 | | he married Betty G. Griffin on January 10, 1948 in Moline; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Robert Morris proudly served in the United States | 9 | | Navy during World War II and the Korean War; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Robert Morris worked for IBM as a field engineer | 11 | | for many years until his retirement in 1978; following his | 12 | | retirement, he worked several years as a union electrician; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Robert Morris was a member of American Legion Post | 14 | | 246, the Masonic Lodge, and the First Lutheran Church in | 15 | | Moline; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Robert Morris enjoyed sailing, boating, | 17 | | traveling, and camping with his family and watching his | 18 | | grandchildren grow; and | 19 | | WHEREAS, Robert Morris was preceded in death by his |

| 1 | | parents; his wife, Betty; his brother, Roland Morris; his | 2 | | sisters, Joyce Winters Brown and Delores Meyers; his grandson, | 3 | | Richard Fisher; and his nephews, Steve Morris and Paul Barnard; | 4 | | and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Morris is survived by his children, Sheryl | 6 | | Jefferson, Teresa Connolly, Thomas Morris, and William | 7 | | (Sandie) Morris; his brother, Duane L. Morris; his | 8 | | grandchildren, Daniel, Kristina, and Samantha Connolly and | 9 | | Robert and Margaret Morris; and his many nieces, nephews, and | 10 | | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 13 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert W. Morris; and | 14 | | be it further
