SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Vernon L. Booton of Milan, who passed away on December 6, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Vernon Booton was born on May 22, 1924 in Galesburg; his parents were Charles and Callie Booton; he married Eileen Hodson on June 30, 1945 in Milan; and

WHEREAS, Vernon Booton was employed at Eagle Food Centers in Milan as an accountant for 31 years; and

WHEREAS, Vernon Booton served his country as a member of the United States Navy; he served in the European Theatre aboard the USS LST-287 and also served in the Pacific Theatre; and

WHEREAS, Vernon Booton enjoyed spending time with his family, his weekly cribbage game with his brother-in-law, golfing, and bowling; and

WHEREAS, Vernon Booton was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen; his son-in-law, Keith Schneckloth; and his brothers, Harry, William, Gale, and Harold Booton; and

WHEREAS, Vernon Booton is survived by his daughters, Vicki Babinski and Debbie Schneckloth; his grandchildren, Jeff (Tricia) Babinski, Michael Babinski, and Brian (Sophia) Schneckloth; and his great-grandchildren, Brooke and Gabrielle Babinski and Yianna, Jordan, and Alexander Schneckloth; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Vernon L. Booton; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Vernon Booton as an expression of our sympathy.
