SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Glen George Davis, Sr. of Rock Island,
4who passed away on December 2, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Glen Davis, Sr. was born in Beacon, Iowa on August
619, 1921 to William and Gladys Kirkendall Davis; he married
7Betty Kerler on April 10, 1942 in Kahoka, Missouri; he served
8his country during World War II in the Philippines with the
9United States Army; he married Vivian Erickson in April of
101997; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Glen Davis, Sr. worked in production at Farmall in
12Rock Island, retiring in 1982; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Glen Davis, Sr. was a member of Cornerstone
14Christian Church in Moline; he enjoyed caring for his rental
15properties and remodeling homes in his younger years; in later
16years, he took comfort in reading the Bible and loved spending
17time with his family, especially his grandchildren; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Glen Davis, Sr. was preceded in death by his first
19wife, Betty; his second wife, Vivian; his parents; his
20daughter, Dixie Wamberg; his sons, Glen, Jr., Paul, Mark, and
21Daniel Davis; his sister, Violet; his brothers, William and

1Ross Davis; and his granddaughter, Amanda Brisendine; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Glen Davis, Sr. is survived by his grandchildren,
3Paul Davis, Glen James Davis, Chris Wamberg, Glen Davis III,
4Todd Franklin, Amy Davis, Tim Davis, Ryan Davis, and Jacob
5Davis; his great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren;
6his sisters-in-law, Mary Davis and Mildred (Sonnie) Reed; his
7daughter-in-law, Marsha Davis; and several nieces, nephews,
8and other family members; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Glen George Davis, Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to
12his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Glen Davis, Sr. as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
