SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Glen George Davis, Sr. of Rock Island, who passed away on December 2, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Glen Davis, Sr. was born in Beacon, Iowa on August 19, 1921 to William and Gladys Kirkendall Davis; he married Betty Kerler on April 10, 1942 in Kahoka, Missouri; he served his country during World War II in the Philippines with the United States Army; he married Vivian Erickson in April of 1997; and

WHEREAS, Glen Davis, Sr. worked in production at Farmall in Rock Island, retiring in 1982; and

WHEREAS, Glen Davis, Sr. was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church in Moline; he enjoyed caring for his rental properties and remodeling homes in his younger years; in later years, he took comfort in reading the Bible and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Glen Davis, Sr. was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty; his second wife, Vivian; his parents; his daughter, Dixie Wamberg; his sons, Glen, Jr., Paul, Mark, and Daniel Davis; his sister, Violet; his brothers, William and Ross Davis; and his granddaughter, Amanda Brisendine; and

WHEREAS, Glen Davis, Sr. is survived by his grandchildren, Paul Davis, Glen James Davis, Chris Wamberg, Glen Davis III, Todd Franklin, Amy Davis, Tim Davis, Ryan Davis, and Jacob Davis; his great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; his sisters-in-law, Mary Davis and Mildred (Sonnie) Reed; his daughter-in-law, Marsha Davis; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Glen George Davis, Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Glen Davis, Sr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
