SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marshall Edward Martel of East Moline, who passed away on November 18, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Martel was born on April 22, 1948 in Stockton, California; his parents were Paul E. and Porfiria (nee Moreno) Martel; he married Pamela K. Gustafson Davis on March 17, 1973 in Rock Island; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Martel retired in 2009 as a draftsman for City Blueprint in Moline; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Martel served as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Martel enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, riding his Harley, traveling, golf, Motown music, and coaching and watching his children play baseball and softball; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Martel is survived by his children, Melissa (David) Turner, Nicole (Scott) Mueller, and Joshua (Tara) Martel; his grandchildren, Joshua, Jason, Victoria, Cody, Kamden, Taylor, Natalie, and Joshua; his great-grandchildren, Bella, Skylar, Jaxxon, and Landon; and his siblings, Andrew Martel, Daniel Martel, James Martel, Joseph (Pat) Martel, Stanley Martel, Matthew Martel, Paul (Susan) Martel, Anita (Terry) Burke, and Micah Martel; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Marshall Edward Martel; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marshall Martel as an expression of our sympathy.
