SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Thomas J. Plechaty of Rock Island, who
4passed away on November 15, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Thomas Plechaty was born in Cicero on October 29,
61937 to Jerry and Leona Teising Plechaty; he graduated from
7Northwestern University in Evanston with a bachelor's degree
8with an emphasis in business; he served in the United States
9Army and married Sandra J. Nowicki on April 18, 1964 in Cicero;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Thomas Plechaty was a food broker and served as
12President of Hockenberg Rubin of Des Moines, Iowa; he later was
13Divisional President of the sales force; he most recently
14served as a consultant to the A.D. Huesing Corp. of Rock
15Island; he came to the Quad Cities in the early years to serve
16as a toy buyer for the Jaydon Corp.; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Thomas Plechaty was a member of St. Pius X
18Catholic Church in Rock Island, where he served on the church
19council; he was also a member of the Oakwood Country Club and
20the Rock Island Kiwanis Club, where he served on the Board of
21Directors; he loved to fish and play golf; and

1    WHEREAS, Thomas Plechaty was preceded in death by his
2parents and his brother, Harry Hedge; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Thomas Plechaty is survived by his wife, Sandi;
4his daughters, Beth Plechaty, Tina Plechaty-Schmitt and her
5husband, Chris Schmitt, and Deb Plechaty-Anderson and her
6husband, Terry Anderson; and his grandchildren, Chelse Sander
7and Antonio Anderson; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Thomas J. Plechaty, and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Thomas Plechaty as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
