SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Thomas J. Hoffman of Milan, who passed
4away on November 11, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Thomas Hoffman was born on February 26, 1934 in
6Moline; his parents were William and Dorothy (nee Leisure)
7Hoffman; he married Marian Teuscher on November 25, 1960 in
8Rock Island; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Thomas Hoffman was a United States Air Force
10veteran; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Thomas Hoffman was the owner and operator of
12Hoffman Trucking; he was a truck driver for Jewel Foods,
13retiring in 1995; in his later years, he worked for Blackhawk
14Bank and Trust and the Rock Island County Courthouse; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Thomas Hoffman was a member of St. Matthew
16Lutheran Church in Milan; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Thomas Hoffman was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and
18enjoyed fishing; in his spare time, he was an associate scout
19for several Major League Baseball teams; his biggest love was
20his grandchildren and attending all their ball games; and

1    WHEREAS, Thomas Hoffman is survived by his wife, Marian;
2his children, Jeffery (Jayne) Hoffman, Lisa (Tim) Davison, and
3T.J. (Kristi) Hoffman; his grandchildren, Meghan, Dan, Allie,
4Robby, Caleb, Kelsey, Drew, Emily, Erik, and Errin; his
5great-grandchildren, Taylor and Rory; and his siblings, Bill
6Hoffman, Marilyn Brown, Sharon Mee, Chuck (Donna) Fiser, and
7Margie Kaskadden; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
10family and friends, mourn the passing of Thomas J. Hoffman; and
11be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Thomas Hoffman as an expression of
14our sympathy.
