SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Effie May Beckett of Blue Mound, who
4passed away on November 16, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Effie Beckett was born on September 27, 1920 in
6Farmington, Missouri; her parents were Lemuel J. and Delia E.
7(nee Alley) Oliver; she married John H. Beckett, Jr. on August
815, 1942; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Effie Beckett graduated from Herculaneum High
10School in Pevely, Missouri; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Effie Beckett was a homemaker and a housekeeper
12for Millikin University for several years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Effie Beckett was a longtime member of Mt. Calvary
14Lutheran Church and a member of First Christian Church of
15Decatur; she was also a graduate of Bible Study Fellowship
16International and a member of the Decatur Senior Bowling
17League; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Effie Beckett was preceded in death by her
19parents; her husband, John, Jr.; her sons, John L. Beckett,
20Sr., Robert O. Beckett, and Bradley K. Beckett; and her

1sisters, Hazel Schanz, Joyce Dunford, and Capitola Pettigo; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Effie Beckett is survived by her children, Sally
3Beck, Tina (Duane) Noland, Tony (Deberah) Beckett, and M. Mark
4(Pamela) Beckett; her daughter-in-law, Gloria Jean Beckett;
5her grandchildren, John L. (Lynnette) Beckett, Jr., Hank
6(Donnette) Beckett, Jason Beckett, George Beck, Grant (Logan)
7Noland, Blake (Kristin) Noland, Victoria (Matthew) Shugart,
8Vanessa (Justin Esparza) Leslie, Jarod Beckett, Alex Beckett,
9and Rachel (Patrick Miller) Beckett; her great-grandchildren,
10Maggie and Laura Beckett, Emily Beckett, Hudson, Elizabeth, and
11Harrison Noland, Bryce Shugart, and Landen and Jaden Esparza;
12and her special friends, Denise Rudd and Anita Burris;
13therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
16family and friends, mourn the passing of Effie May Beckett; and
17be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Effie Beckett as an expression of
20our sympathy.
