SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William Green of Moline, who passed away on October 29, 2015; and

WHEREAS, William Green was born in Centralia, Washington on February 14, 1931 to Lee Adlie and Hannah Page Green; he served in the United States Army and married E. Louise Fields in Rio, Illinois on August 1, 1954; and

WHEREAS, William Green retired in 1993 as the shift supervisor of the IPS Department at Alcoa in Bettendorf, Iowa after 30 years of service; and

WHEREAS, William Green was a member of the Moline American Legion Post 246; he was a member of Beulah Presbyterian Church, where he was a former Trustee and Elder; he was also the Treasurer of Building Funds as well as a volunteer cleaner; and

WHEREAS, William Green enjoyed playing baseball and golf and was on the John Deere Golf League; he was a St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed fishing and camping; he was an organic vegetable gardener and enjoyed the orchard that he planted; above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and children; and

WHEREAS, William Green was preceded in death by his parents; his 2 sisters; and his 2 brothers; and

WHEREAS, William Green is survived by his wife, Louise; his sons, William L. (Jan) Green, John Green, and Marty Green; his grandchildren, Jenny (Kelby) Krueger, Ben Green, and Abby Green; his great-grandchildren, Taylor, Sierra, and Lane Krueger; his sister, Grace (John) Chezem; and his brother, Bob (Elaine) Green; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William Green, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Green as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
