SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William Green of Moline, who passed away
4on October 29, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Green was born in Centralia, Washington on
6February 14, 1931 to Lee Adlie and Hannah Page Green; he served
7in the United States Army and married E. Louise Fields in Rio,
8Illinois on August 1, 1954; and
 
9    WHEREAS, William Green retired in 1993 as the shift
10supervisor of the IPS Department at Alcoa in Bettendorf, Iowa
11after 30 years of service; and
 
12    WHEREAS, William Green was a member of the Moline American
13Legion Post 246; he was a member of Beulah Presbyterian Church,
14where he was a former Trustee and Elder; he was also the
15Treasurer of Building Funds as well as a volunteer cleaner; and
 
16    WHEREAS, William Green enjoyed playing baseball and golf
17and was on the John Deere Golf League; he was a St. Louis
18Cardinals fan and enjoyed fishing and camping; he was an
19organic vegetable gardener and enjoyed the orchard that he
20planted; above all, he loved spending time with his family,
21especially his grandchildren and children; and

1    WHEREAS, William Green was preceded in death by his
2parents; his 2 sisters; and his 2 brothers; and
 
3    WHEREAS, William Green is survived by his wife, Louise; his
4sons, William L. (Jan) Green, John Green, and Marty Green; his
5grandchildren, Jenny (Kelby) Krueger, Ben Green, and Abby
6Green; his great-grandchildren, Taylor, Sierra, and Lane
7Krueger; his sister, Grace (John) Chezem; and his brother, Bob
8(Elaine) Green; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11William Green, and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of William Green as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
