SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joseph L. McCaffrey of Silvis, who passed away on November 2, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Joseph McCaffrey was born on July 4, 1927 in Quincy; his parents were Sydney and Lee Edna Groce McCaffrey; he married Betty Margaret Clifton on June 11, 1950 in Davenport, Iowa; and

WHEREAS, Joseph McCaffrey worked as a supervisor in Tool & Dye for John Deere Harvester Works for many years until his retirement in 1985; following his retirement, he worked at the Rock Island Arsenal from 1986 to 1991; and

WHEREAS, Joseph McCaffrey proudly served in the United States Army at the end of World War II during the Occupation of Japan; and

WHEREAS, Joseph McCaffrey was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Betty; and

WHEREAS, Joseph McCaffrey is survived by his daughters, Norma (Charles) Nagle, Barbara (Gary) Losey, and Carol (Robert) Ariss; his grandchildren, Keith Nagle, Kevin Nagle, Kathy Donnelly, Julie Finley, Bobby Ariss, Elizabeth Ariss, Tim Losey, and Janelle West; his great-grandchildren, Kaleb Nagle, Ronan Donnelly, Shaeley Donnelly, Kira Finley, Kendrack Finley, Joshua Losey, Emily West, Tyler West, Dylan West, and Titus Nagle; and his brother, W. Merle McCaffrey; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Joseph L. McCaffrey; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joseph McCaffrey as an expression of our sympathy.
