| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Barbara J. Burgess, who passed away on | 4 | | October 19, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Barbara Burgess was born in Wood River on March | 6 | | 11, 1935 to Edward Oscar and Helen Charlotte (nee Hinthorne) | 7 | | Lindquist; she was formerly married to Charles G. Duckels; she | 8 | | later married Gillum "Jim" Burgess in Meadowbrook; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Barbara Burgess was a secretary with the State of | 10 | | Missouri; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Barbara Burgess was a member of Emmanuel Free | 12 | | Methodist Church in Alton and was in involved in the Quilters | 13 | | Circle at the church; she was a past member of the Eastern Star | 14 | | in Chesterfield and the Christian Women's Club of Alton; she | 15 | | loved spending time with her family and friends; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Barbara Burgess was preceded in death by her | 17 | | husband, Jim; her parents; her aunt, Helen Lindquist; and her | 18 | | nephew, Rob Pritzker; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Barbara Burgess is survived by her 2 sons and | 20 | | their spouses, Dan and Gail Duckels and Dean and Julia Duckels; |

| 1 | | her grandchildren and their spouses, Amanda Duckels, David | 2 | | Duckels, Whitney and Cory Brockmeyer, Lyndsay and Erik Casad, | 3 | | and Julie and Danny Loftis; her 5 great-grandchildren, Tyson, | 4 | | Tyra, Dalton, Cassie, and Easton; her 2 sisters and a | 5 | | brother-in-law, Donna Pritzker and Sherri and Larry Rose; her | 6 | | aunt, Catherine Pomeroy; and her nieces and nephews; therefore, | 7 | | be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Barbara J. Burgess, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 11 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 12 | | further
