SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Stella A. Sallie, who passed away on October 31, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Stella Sallie was born in Joliet and was a lifelong resident; and

WHEREAS, Stella Sallie was a graduate of Lewis University and a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority; and

WHEREAS, Stella Sallie served as an educator to many at Gompers Junior High School and Joliet West High School; and

WHEREAS, Stella Sallie was preceded in death by her parents; her son; and her brother; and

WHEREAS, Stella Sallie is survived by her daughter, Leanne Linder; her grandson, Keenan Linder; her sister-in-law, Lita Holmes; her niece, Stacia Brown; her nephew, Douglas Holmes; and her many cousins, other family members, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Stella A. Sallie; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Stella Sallie as an expression of our sympathy.
