SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Sheldon "Shel" Ray Grant of Peoria, who passed away on October 14, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Sheldon Grant was born on March 14, 1958 in Peoria; his parents were Odies and Jannie (nee Lawrence) Grant; and

WHEREAS, Sheldon Grant retired as a code enforcement inspector with the City of Peoria in 2011 after 23 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Sheldon Grant was a member of Heaven's View Christian Fellowship Church, where he served as a deacon and choir member; and

WHEREAS, Sheldon Grant was preceded in death by his mother and his nephew, Ocasio Grant; and

WHEREAS, Sheldon Grant is survived by his father; his brothers, Don L., Vernon, and Kevin; and his sisters, Debra (Thomas) Grant-Wilson, Gail Grant, Gay (Michael) Grant-McLennan, Cindy Grant, and Eugenia Grant; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Sheldon "Shel" Ray Grant; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sheldon Grant as an expression of our sympathy.
