SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Donald A. McGill of Moline, who passed away on October 2, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Donald McGill was born in Knox County on September 16, 1925 to Grant and Mary (nee Peel) McGill; he served during World War II in the United States Army Air Corps; he married Jacqueline Dierickx on October 13, 1951 at First United Methodist Church in Rock Island; and

WHEREAS, Donald McGill was employed at John Deere Plow Planter and John Deere Industrial for 21 years, retiring in 1984 as Senior Methods Engineer; and

WHEREAS, Donald McGill enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, fishing, and nature; and

WHEREAS, Donald McGill was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Grant McGill, Jr. and Allen Keith McGill; and

WHEREAS, Donald McGill is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; his daughter, Cathy McGill; his son, Ronald (Amy) McGill; his grandchildren, Alexander McGill and Abby (Jeff) Less; and his first great-grandchild due in November; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Donald A. McGill, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Donald McGill as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
