SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Guy F. "Red" Brownson, who passed away on July 6, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Guy Brownson served in the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, Guy Brownson was an active member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 1870; and

WHEREAS, Guy Brownson was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5696 and the National Rifle Association; and

WHEREAS, Guy Brownson was a longtime Downers Grove Township Democrat and former Democratic Party of DuPage County Sergeant-at-Arms; he was a committed and active Democrat for decades and made significant contributions; and

WHEREAS, Guy Brownson was a longtime, devoted member of the Episcopal Church of St. Benedict; and

WHEREAS, Guy Brownson was the loving husband to Beth Brownson; the devoted dad to Jason (Rachel) Bednar and Cindy (Chad) Colmone; the cherished grandpa to Emma and Noah Bednar and Connor, Colin, and Cora Colmone; and the caring owner of "Punkin" the cat; he is survived by his 2 sisters and 3 brothers; he was a fond uncle and friend to many; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Guy F. "Red" Brownson, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Guy Brownson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
