SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James Francis Davis of Chatham, who passed away on September 1, 2015; and

WHEREAS, James Davis was born on June 6, 1948 in Springfield; his parents were Billy Joe and Betty Jane Edwards Davis; he married Carol Ann Shaudis on November 4, 1972; and

WHEREAS, James Davis served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, James Davis was employed as a wholesale food broker; he most recently worked for Arrowhead Sales and Marketing; and

WHEREAS, James Davis was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Chatham; and

WHEREAS, James Davis was an active volunteer with Clark Griffith Little League; he was also a St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed watching his grandson's sports activities; and

WHEREAS, James Davis was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles; and

WHEREAS, James Davis is survived by his wife, Carol Ann; his sons, Brian (Brenda) Davis and Chris Davis; his grandsons, Colin and Gavin Davis; his sister, Alta Davis; his brother, Charlie Davis; his sister-in-law, Margery Eilts; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of James Francis Davis; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Davis as an expression of our sympathy.
