SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Donald L. Cordano of Joliet, who passed away on September 7, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Donald Cordano was born on August 5, 1934 to Louise (nee Brusatte) and Joseph Cordano; he married Suellen Brehn on August 29, 1959; and

WHEREAS, Donald Cordano was the founder and President of Donald L. Cordano and Associates and Professor Emeritus at Lewis University; he served as board member and Treasurer of the Joliet Area Community Hospice, Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, the Will Grundy Center for Independent Living, and the Rialto Foundation; he held positions of leadership in many professional associations; and

WHEREAS, Donald Cordano lead a small dance band for over 25 years; he was also a lifetime member of the Joliet Elks, the Loyal Order of Moose, the Knights of Columbus, and The Old Timers Baseball Association; and

WHEREAS, Donald Cordano was preceded in death by his parents; his infant brother, LaVerne Cordano; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dolores (nee Morrison) and Raymond Brehn; his brother-in-law, Bob (Mickey) Brehn; and his sister-in-law, Mary Lou Briscoe; and

WHEREAS, Donald Cordano is survived by his wife, Suellen; his children, Marisue (Dr. Alexander) Grabavoy and James (Stephani) Cordano; his grandchildren, Christiana Grabavoy (Stephen Hertzog), Natalya Grabavoy, and Mia and Griffin Cordano; his brother-in-law, Jim Briscoe; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Donald L. Cordano, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Donald Cordano as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
