| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Jeffrey Thomas "Doc" Lantz of Coal | 4 | | Valley, who passed away on September 6, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lantz was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on | 6 | | April 1, 1947 to Theodore R. and Eileen (nee Pliette) Lantz; he | 7 | | graduated from West High School in Davenport, Iowa in 1965 and | 8 | | then attended St. Ambrose College; he served his county with | 9 | | the 1st BN 4th Marines as a corpsman in Vietnam; he was awarded | 10 | | the Vietnam Service Medal (Bronze Star), the Vietnam Campaign | 11 | | Medal, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, and the National | 12 | | Defense Service Medal; he married Wilma Jean Parks on June 6, | 13 | | 1981 in Davenport; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lantz retired from the Rock Island Arsenal | 15 | | in 1987 after 25 years of service; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lantz was a lifetime member of Vietnam | 17 | | Veterans of America #299, where he served as a member of the | 18 | | honor guard; he was a member of the Marine Corps League in | 19 | | Columbus, South Carolina; he enjoyed fishing and helping | 20 | | others; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lantz was preceded in death by his father, |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lantz is survived by his wife, Wilma Jean; | 3 | | his daughter, Debbie Heald; his granddaughters, Abigail Heald | 4 | | and Nicole Heald; his mother, Eileen Lantz; his sister, Ann | 5 | | Lange (Brad); his brother, Bruce Lantz (Lora); and his nephews, | 6 | | James and Andrew Lange; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Jeffrey Thomas "Doc" Lantz, and extend our sincere condolences | 10 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 11 | | it further
