SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ralph L. Hood of Milan, who passed away on September 7, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Hood was born on January 30, 1945 in Biloxi, Mississippi; his parents were John and Alice (nee Noel) Hood; he married Nancy Sumner on June 29, 1973 in Rock Island; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Hood served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Hood was employed as a locomotive electrician for the Rock Island Railroad; he later worked in locomotive sales at the National Railway Equipment Company in Silvis; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Hood enjoyed ornithology, classical and opera music, Shakespeare, Sherlock Holmes, and hunting and fishing; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Hood was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald Hood; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Hood is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy Hood; his sisters, Joan (Jerry) Lemburg and Joyce (Jim) Draper; his many nieces and nephews; and his longtime family friend, Terry Mahon; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Ralph L. Hood; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ralph Hood as an expression of our sympathy.
