HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Martin Duffy of Gallatin County on being selected by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) to be inducted into the Illinois Basketball Hall of Fame as a "Friend of Basketball"; and

WHEREAS, Martin Duffy was a member of the 1973 Ridgway Eagles State championship team and vividly remembers every moment of every game from that year; he has supported the Ridgway Eagles, and now the Gallatin County Hawks, his entire life; and

WHEREAS, Martin Duffy is one of the most loyal fans of Illinois high school basketball and is one of the most enthusiastic fans of the Gallatin County Hawks; and

WHEREAS, The IBCA induction ceremony will be held at Illinois State University in Normal on April 30, 2016; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Martin Duffy of Gallatin County on being inducted into the Illinois Basketball Hall of Fame; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Martin Duffy as an expression of our esteem and respect.
