HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Tom Kavicky on the
4occasion of his retirement as Safety Director and Assistant to
5the President for the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters;
6and
 
7    WHEREAS, Tom Kavicky was appointed as Safety Director in
81998 and as Assistant to the President for the Chicago Regional
9Council of Carpenters in 2001; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Throughout his 45 years of service, Tom Kavicky
11was instrumental in establishing relationships inclusive of
12union and non-union contractors which were critical to the
13success of the safety program and ensuring safe working
14conditions; and
 
15    WHEREAS, In addition to his service for the Chicago
16Regional Council of Carpenters, Tom Kavicky served in the
17Office of Trustee for Millwright Local 1693 and was a
18Millwright and Welding instructor and assistant coordinator
19for the George Vest Carpenter Apprentice and Training Program;
20and
 
21    WHEREAS, Tom Kavicky's influence and service extended

1beyond the boundaries of Millwright Local 1693 and the Chicago
2Regional Council of Carpenters, including serving as Liaison to
3the Occupational Safety and Health Administration Region V
4offices, United States Department of Labor Delegate to the
5Tri-National Tripartite Construction Conference,
6Representative to the Illinois Department of Labor,
7Representative to the Illinois Department of Health, Executive
8Board Member of the Chicago Area Committee on Occupational
9Safety and Health, and Employee Representative to the
10Occupational Safety and Health Administration Advisory
11Committee for Construction Safety and Health in Washington,
12D.C. from 2004 to 2012; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Tom Kavicky is a well-respected member and an
14expert in his trade; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
17congratulate Tom Kavicky on his retirement and wish him
18continued success and happiness in the future; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to Tom Kavicky as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
