HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Melrose Park
4Dirt Divas Little League softball team on the occasion of
5winning the Little League Illinois State Division championship
6on July 20, 2015; and
 
7    WHEREAS, The 2015 Melrose Park Dirt Divas represented the
8State of Illinois in the Junior League division of the regional
9tournament; the team had an impressive and overall undefeated
10record of 29 wins and 0 losses, including an undefeated run in
11the district, sectionals, and winning the Illinois
12championship title; and
 
13    WHEREAS, This occasion marks the second time that the
14Melrose Park Dirt Divas have won the Little League State
15Championship; and
 
16    WHEREAS, The members of the Melrose Park Dirt Divas, Alyssa
17Stramaglia, Andrea Fuentes, Caitlin Kruse, Cassandra Lee,
18Cristina Anguiano, Giselle Vasquez, Kassandra Perez, Kirsten
19Polen, Melissa Gonzalez, and Samantha Richardson, showed
20tremendous dedication and sportsmanship throughout the season
21toward the goal of winning the Little League Illinois State
22championship; and

1    WHEREAS, The Melrose Park team was managed by Tony Fuentes
2and coached by Kevin Polen, Amanda Bernal, and Ashley
3Richardson, who all demonstrated professionalism and respect
4for their players and the game of softball; and
 
5    WHEREAS, The Melrose Park Dirt Divas fans showed
6enthusiasm, support, and courtesy for the game of softball and
7all the players and coaches; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10congratulate the Melrose Park Dirt Divas Little League softball
11team on the occasion of winning the Little League Illinois
12State Division championship and wish the players and coaches
13continued success and happiness in the future; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the Melrose Park Dirt Divas as a symbol of our
17esteem and respect.
