HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Nashville Community High School softball team, the Hornets, on winning the Illinois High School Association Class 2A State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Hornets defeated Brimfield High School 1 to 0 in a hard-fought battle after a terrific season; the team finished the season with an impressive record of 39 wins and 2 losses; and

WHEREAS, The championship game was a classic example of a pitchers duel as the 2 teams battled until the Hornets finally scored the game winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win 1 to 0; and

WHEREAS, The Hornets are Paige Kasten, Emily Thompson, Brooke Burcham, Jordi Harre, Brooke Bartling, Mackenzie McFeron, Alli Liske, Daley Buchanan, Jordan Stiegman, Karly Stanowski, Joey Lane, Dakota Hunter, Maci Ingram, and Deidra Holzhauer; and

WHEREAS, The head coach of the Hornets is Dempsey Witte, who has coached girls softball at Nashville High School for 5 years; the team's assistant coaches are Bethany Hinkle, Patrick Weathers, Wayne Harre, and Charles Heck; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Nashville Community High School softball team, the Hornets, on winning the Illinois High School Association Class 2A State Championship and we wish them many more years of continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Hornets as an expression of our esteem and respect.
