HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Virginia
4Weaver of Peoria, who passed away on June 3, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver was born in Eureka; her parents
6were Ora and Ella Garber; she married Robert Weaver on June 3,
71945; and
 
8    WHEREAS, After graduating from Peoria High School,
9Virginia Weaver worked at Buehler Home in the accounting
10department; the skills she acquired there served her well as a
11founding partner of what would become Weaver Enterprises; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver loved flowers, particularly
13planning, developing, and working in her perennial gardens; she
14and her husband were well known in the horse coaching and
15carriage world; she also enjoyed spending time with her family;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver served as a Sunday school teacher
18and church treasurer for many years; in her later years, she
19attended the First United Methodist Church; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver and her husband were jointly

1honored as the Association of Fundraising Professionals
2Philanthropists of the Year; they were also Easter Seals
3Tribute Dinner honorees; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver was preceded in death by her
5husband of 69 years, Robert; her parents; and her sister,
6Shirley Roth; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver is survived by 5 children, Jerry
8(Nancy) Weaver, Phyllis (Don) Crouch, Steve (Shelley) Weaver,
9Karen (Bob Vespa) Weaver, and Charles (Laurie) Weaver; 20
10grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
12NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of
14Virginia Weaver; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Virginia Weaver as an expression of
17our sympathy.
