HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Dr. George Mihel on the occasion of his retirement as President and CEO of Sauk Valley Community College; and

WHEREAS, Dr. George Mihel was born in Oak Park in 1947; and

WHEREAS, Dr. George Mihel graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1965 and attended Lyons Junior College; he subsequently earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois in 1970, a master's degree from Northern Illinois University in 1972 in Instructional Technology, and a Doctorate from Northern Illinois in 1988; and

WHEREAS, Dr. George Mihel taught high school level math and science from 1970 to 1978 and math and science at the college level in Oregon from 1978 to 1982; from 1982 to 2013, he served as a College Administrator in Michigan, Nebraska, Kansas, and Illinois; and

WHEREAS, In 2005, Dr. George Mihel became President of at Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon; and

WHEREAS, Dr. George Mihel serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Dr. George Mihel on the occasion of his retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. George Mihel as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
