HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Lucile Krasnow has announced her retirement as Special Assistant for Community Relations at Northwestern University in Evanston; and

WHEREAS, Lucile Krasnow began her service at Northwestern University in November of 1999, serving as the University's first community liaison to the City of Evanston with the goal of creating new and effective partnerships between the University, the community, and the City of Evanston; and

WHEREAS, Lucile Krasnow was successful in spearheading new initiatives to strengthen the relationship between the City of Evanston and Northwestern, including the partnership with Evanston Township High School to increase collaborations in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics and to enhance learning opportunities at the school; and

WHEREAS, Lucile Krasnow has been actively engaged in the Evanston community, serving on community and civic organizations such as the Evanston Chamber of Commerce, which she served as president for 2 years, and Northwestern's United Way campaign, where she served as co-chair for more than 10 years; and

WHEREAS, Lucile Krasnow was instrumental in bolstering Northwestern's volunteer and service programs, which enhanced the health, skills, and well-being of residents in the City of Evanston; and

WHEREAS, Lucile Krasnow's passion for the City of Evanston and devotion to the University allowed her to create mutually beneficial partnerships that have had a positive impact on the University's teaching and learning experience; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the significant professional achievements of Lucile Krasnow and express our sincere gratitude for the invaluable contributions she has made to the City of Evanston and Northwestern University; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Lucile Krasnow as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
